Dues Reminder
Joplin Roadrunner membership dues are $25 and are due in January of each year. Checks are to be payable to Joplin Roadrunners and may be mailed to Joplin Roadrunners. P.O. Box 847, Joplin, MO 64802. If you are not a member, we ask you to consider joining us Besides receiving the monthly JRR newsletter featuring local and regional running news, you'll get the chance to connect to other area runners, stay in the loop regarding upcoming area and out-of-area races, receive discounts to JRR sponsored events, enjoy discounts from area merchants and support some great charitable causes. Join us every Tuesday morning at 5:15 AM as we run from The Run Around store located at the northwest corner of 6th and Main Streets (across from Instant Karma) in downtown Joplin. Runs are also being conducted from various points in the city on Thursday mornings. For more details, call Travis at 1-417-850-0574.
New Area Courses Page
Looking for a place to run? Check out some area routes on our new Area Courses page, including this months featured race, the Dogwood 5k in Neosho. If you have a favorite route you like to run, plug it into MapMyRun and send us the link so we can share it with others.
Membership in JRR does have it's privileges. With each each new membership or membership renewal, members will get a JRR t-shirt sporting our new logo (one t-shirt per application, but additional shirts may be ordered). JRR members receive 10% off at The Run Around running and walking store in Joplin (must present membership card to receive discount). In addition, every JRR member will receive $5 off their entry fee to JRR supported runs such as the Run With the Wind 25k, The Boomtown Half Marathon and the Pumpkin Run 5 Miler. Not to mention all the wonderful charitiable causes your dues go to support each year! So what are you waiting for? Join today by printing, filling out and and mailing our membership form. The savings you'll enjoy will more than pay for your membership and you'll make some great new friends as you support health and fitness in our area.
2011 Joplin Roadrunners of the Year-Erik Bennett & Cathy Pawlus
Erik and Cathy have solidified their place in the Joplin running community with the opening of The Run Around on Main Street in Joplin. They now outfit many area runners with their lines of clothing and shoes. However, Erik and Cathy really stepped up to the plate when the May 22nd tornado hit. Working with many of their vendors, Erik and Cathy, in spite of completely losing their home in the storm, provided an untold amount of donated clothing and shoes to tornado victims. One could not drive down Main Street without seeing the boxes and boxes of product on the sidewalk Like so many victims of the storm, they chose to place the needs of others above their own. Congratulations on your award Erik and Cathy. We are proud of you.

The Joplin Roadrunners are a group of local runners of all ages and abilities. We meet on the second Monday of every month to share our experiences, encourage one another, preview upcoming races and enjoy one anothers fellowship. It is our goal to promote and foster running in the tri-state area. Check this site for meeting locations and times.
